Planning Has Just Begun for the 2010 Picnic - Unknown at this Time What All of the Kinds of Fun and Surprises Will Await You in the Park - We Do Know Some and You Will Have Fun

Our Volunteer Membership has decided to raise funds with a mail out and fund raiser picnic for FCC mandated change over to narrow band for all communications by January 1, 2013. Drummond Fire Department must have all communication equipment on narrow band in order to communicate with emergency services including County, State and Federal.

In order for Drummond Fire Department to come into compliance, a large number of our radios and pagers need to be replaced as they cannot be upgraded to narrow band. We estimate the cost to be about $20,000 and to take a couple of years to raise these funds to help the Town of Drummond meet this mandate.

Kids games and prizes.

Sorry, cash raffle tickets will not be sold this year. We will be selling the Booster tickets which are drawn for great prizes from local and area businesses. The fantastically exciting silent auction will also be held as that seems to be a favorite attraction with wonderful items available. 50/50 tickets will be sold and times announced for drawings - must be present to win. Once again this year you can sit in the comfort of the big white tent and listen to the wonderful music provided by the Namakagon String Band. More details to be added as more plans are finalized.

Food, food, more food and then all those beverages. Actually starting to sound like a picnic!

Do you have the ambition, courage, energy, desire for fun, competitive spirit to put together your own team (all men, all women, or mix it up) to challenge others in water barrel fights? The fire department will let you use their jackets, boots, helmets, face masks, etc. so you do not get wet (does not sound like a lot of fun considering the sport and all - but totally up to you). Better yet, put together your own team and then talk one of the firemen into being lead on managing the nozzle. Trophies are awarded. Bring your own firemen to the challenge.
