"Wisconsin - Life's So Good"

The calendar says it is Spring and the "official" weather forecaster for Wisconsin has said it will be a long, cool approach to springlike weather with some days of fairly warm weather and then back to cool days.  Sounds rather normal.  Which then leads into all the warm weather activities waiting for you "up north" in Drummond, WI.

The feeder in the photo at left awaits the arrival of the Baltimore orioles.  The birds have been seen a bit south of Drummond but with the icicles and snow around the oranges on April 27, 2008, it may be awhile before the orioles continue to fly north for the summer.  In the meantime, the red squirrel will eat the orange section by section.  And we will wait awhile before putting out the grape jam in the middle container for the orioles.

Golden Capped King Bird and a Canadian Goose in Flight

White-throated male sparrow.  Sings, "Old Sam, Peabody,Peabody" or some people say they sing, "Oh Canada, Canada, Canada".  Sounds like someone whistling the tune.  When they get that yellow lore (spot on head) they are in breeding plumage and are looking for a mate.
